BSC Midweek Update 6-24-09

Storm/Revolution update

Tuesday June 23 @ Meador Park.

Game 1 v. Republic, W, 6-4, Brittany Wood WP
Hits: Addie Murders 2, (triple), Megan Vest (3 RBI); Rachel Schrader 2 (double) (2 RBI); Ashley Payne;

Game 2 v. Lady Chiefs, W, 20-0, Alyssa Kelley WP
Hits: Haleigh Brown 2; Jaelyn Halbrook; Addie Murders; Ashley Payne; Summer Rash 2; Taylor Hedges

We are hitting the ball much better. Brittany is pitching very well and our defense is solid. Any win over Republic is a good win. I am proud of the way our girls are representing Bolivar. We played good softball tonight. We won or tied every inning tonight which is a good formula for winning softball. We just need to take this approach every day and good things will continue to happen. (Jay Halbrook)

Record: 5-5; Up next: 6 Wednesday @ Ash Grove v. Ash Grove; 8:30, Tuesday June 30 @ Meador Park & 8:30 Wednesday July 1 @ AG

Freedom update
Monday, June 22 @ Meador Park

Game 1 v. Angels W, 3-0 Megan Elliott, WP
Hits: 0; we put the ball in play and they struggled getting outs in the 1st inning. Megan pitched a great game and our defense was good enough to keep them from scoring. They had a 2 out triple in the 4th but could not get the run across.

Game 2. v. Angels W, 12-7 Abby Toler, WP in relief;
Hits: Sammy Jacobson, Jaelyn Halbrook (double).

The Angels had a tough time throwing strikes and we had 16 walks or HBP; We were able to score 6 in the top of the last inning to come from behind and give ourselves a cushion and get the win. The Angels feed the Kickapoo program. We are still making progress and when we start hitting like we are capable, we will be a force. (Jay Halbrook)

Record: 5-4-1; Up next Monday @ Meador Park 6 & 8:30;

The girls are swinging the bats very aggressively right now. Other teams are having a difficult time defending against us. We are hitting the ball consistently and very hard. We are also playing outstanding defense. We are learning what to do to win and playing very hard. It is difficult to imagine scoring 54 runs on 67 hits regardless of the age level or division (Jamie Halbrook).

Record: 7-1; Up next Monday @ Meador Park 8 & 9
