Brittany did a nice job. She pitched better than what she got.

We outhit Rolla 4-3 but theirs were timely. We need that big hit and can’t seem to get it. In close losses, everything is magnified. We just have to stay at it and we will learn what it takes to win.

We were finally able to put multiple hits up in one inning. The bottom of the 3rd we put 4 hits up and scored 3 times to take a 4-2 lead.
Megan did a good job and gave us some very quality innings. She pitched around 6 errors and allowed 2 unearned runs; Brittany came in and finished things off. It is very important to have all of our pitchers throwing well.

Gm 14 @ Ozark Tournament Saturday 9-12 v. Lebanon 3:30 PM (Gm 5)

We played hard for 8 innings. We scored in the 3rd and Lebanon tied it up in the bottom half;
They scored 2 more in the 4th to take a 3-1 lead into the 5th.
We answered in the 6th with 2 to tie the game at 3. No one scored in the 7th. In the 8th we were able to score 2. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Ashley Payne hit a ball the pitcher made a nice play to stop and heads up baserunning forced a play at the plate. After the catcher dropped the ball, the runner from 2nd scored to give us a 5-3 lead. Lebanon scored a run with 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th.
It seemed like we started playing a little harder and wanting it a little more about mid-day Saturday. We were really happy to see that. Our “hustle” improved on Saturday and that was a very good sign. We are getting better. After an 0-3 start to the season, we have won 8 of 11.
We finished the tournament 3-2 and 7th of 16. Marshfield finished 2nd, losing to Nixa in the Championship game. That will be a tough one next week, but we seem to make all of them tough.
