Our season came to a close with an un-official second place finish, due to the fact that our third game was rained out. It wasn't the most pleasant day for a tournament, with the heat index hovering around 100 degrees, but our girls fought through it and played hard. We had a slow start, losing to Poison, a team we beat during a June tournament. But we came back to pick up a win against Weabeleau. Our bats warmed up by the 2nd game, which allowed us to use our aggressive base running to score a few more runs. Brittany Wood did a nice job pitching through near exhaustion with the sweltering temperatures. Becca Roweton had a great day at the plate, bunting and slapping her way on base, going 3-5 for the day. These girls had a great season, finishing 18-10. They grew a lot as players, and as a team, and we are already looking forward to next season. It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to coach them this summer. - Kyle Hedges

We completed our season with a tournament championship and 21 wins. I was very happy with each of our pitchers today. It was very hot and we tried to move girls around to keep them fresh. I was proud of the way our girls competed all summer. We improved every day and the girls showed a great deal of devotion and perseverance. We had a great group of athletes who are dedicated to being the best they can be. We pushed them to get better every day and they responded very well. I am proud to be associated with this group and I think we will continue to get better.
Final Record: 21 – 3 – 2
