Hits: Michaela Rudy; Taylor Sechler (2); Meleah Francka (2); Kaylie Rothdiener (2); Jenna Halbrook (2) RBI; Aubrie Dial

We played well and out hit Liberty 10-8. Shania threw very well and we played good defense. We just couldn't string enough hits together. We had our chances, but Just like Shania, their pitcher got tougher with runners on. I was very pleased with our effort, just not the outcome.

We played well and scored 7 in the 6h inning to put the game away. It was a 2-2 game when we came to bat and we finally broke out and put some hits together. Aubrie Dial started in the circle and did a great job again. She took a hard ground ball off of her throwing hand and we had to go to Jenna, who finished it off for us.

Up next: @ Springfield Tournament; 9-28 v. Battle; v Branson; v. Ozark (9-30); @ Hollister (10-1, COC); @ Camdenton 10-3 (4:30) and v. Branson (10-7); Districts at Log-Rog 10-9, 10, & 12

We played and pitched well. Battle is a new High School in Columbia. They have some tremendous athletes, but they are very young. We were fortunate to get the win, however we did strand a lot of runners.

Up next: @ Springfield Tournament; v Branson; v. Ozark (9-30); @ Hollister (10-1, COC); @ Camdenton 10-3 (4:30) and v. Branson (10-7); Districts at Log-Rog 10-9, 10, & 12

This was a good way to end the tournament. We feel pretty confident that once we get our heads clear and focus on winning each pitch, we are going to be pretty good. We went 3-2 and didn't embarrass ourselves against some good teams. We are ready for the stretch run.

We had moments we looked very good in this tournament, but we had several we looked bad. Defensively, we have to do a better job each game. The issues really are aour decision making when we have the ball, we need to be able to think a play ahead and stop reacting to circumstances. We will clean that up. I felt our pitchers did a good job this weekend. I will do a better job preparing our team for what we have to do on the field.

Hits: Michaela Rudy (2) Double RBI; Shania Francka 2 doubles 2 RBI; Brookeline Walker; Kaylie Rothdiener (2), RBI; Aubrie Dial; Meleah Francka (3) double and RBI; Haley Rauch.

This was a very nice win for us. We were down 4-1 heading into the 5th. We tied it up and then took the lead in the 6th. We took a nice step in the right direction. We hit the ball well tonight and our defense played better. Shania and AnnaMarie combined to throw a great game for us Shania struck out 6 and AnnaMarie struck out 1 and got the win. We expect to see more of that as we progress into the season. This win sets up a pretty big game next week with Rogersville.

JV - (6-1-1) Won 15-2; Our kids continue to impress us. We play well defensively, pitch well, and hit well.

We came out and beat a team we should have. We were able to get some at bats for several players. I was pleased with the night, but we are still making some errors on the bases that we need to clean up.

Kickapoo JV Tournament

Gm 1 - v. Central (varsity); Lost 6-4
Gm 2 - v. Kickapoo; Won 12-1
Gm 3 - v. Lebanon; Won 8-1

Our JV kids went to Kickapoo Saturday (9-7-13) and took 3rd Place. They played very well today We had 2 rough innings to start the day and gave up some unearned runs. We didn't start hitting until the second time through the lineup. We came back to make it a good exciting finish but lost. We took the positive energy from that finish and played outstanding softball the rest of the day. Our hitters did a great job and our pitchers and defense also did a terrific job to finish strong and in 3rd.

JV will host Strafford Monday and travel to Buffalo Tuesday.

Reeds Spring Recap

Gm 3 v. Reeds Spring (COC)

Won 5-0 (2-1, 1-0); WP - S. Francka (2-0)

Hits-Brookeline Walker; Aubrie Dial, RBI; Shania Francka (HR), RBI; AnnaMarie McGlone (2) triple, 2 RBI;

We didn't hit particularly well. We were tight with our swings and kept off balance by Morgan Cantrell all night. We hope to fix this on Monday against Strafford, and be ready to go strong at a very good Buffalo team. We pitched pretty well and played ok on defense .It is still early and we are working out some timing and nerves. I think we will settle down soon and get to playing Liberator softball.

Aubrie Dial started in the circle and threw well, but we had to go to Shania when Aubrie was experiencing some issues with her hand. Shania came in and continued the game, throwing the last 5 innings. Shania also hit her first career Home Run. It was a pretty exciting time for her and our team.

Up next: v. Strafford, 9-9-13; at Buffalo (COC) 9-10-13; Ozark Tournament 9-13 & 14;

I will post the Ozark bracket as soon as I receive it.

JV -  Won 5-3; We hit the ball pretty well and we pitched and played well defnse. We are proud of these girls who are maturing every day. The progress they are making speaks well to the quality of people they are.  Kickapoo JV Tournament 9-7-13 (10 am, 11:30 am, and 1 pm)

Willard recap

Gm 2 @ Willard 9-3-13

Lost 3-2 (1-1); L - A. McGlone (0-1)

Hits: Michaela Rudy; Taylor Sechler RBI (sac fly); Kaylie Rothdiener (2) Double; Brookeline Walker triple, RBI; AnnaMarie McGlone; Haley Rauch.

It was disappointing to lose, but we competed well all night. Willard is a good team and we came up short. We hit the ball and handled their team speed for the most part. We gave up 3 in the third and could not push a run across when we had chances. I was pleased with the effort and disappointed that we couldn't win the game. If we continue to play at this level, we will have a fun fall.

Up next: v. Reeds Spring, 9-5-13 (COC); v. Strafford, 9-9-13; at Buffalo (COC) 9-10-13; Ozark Tournament 9-13 & 14;

JV-  Won 4-1; We hit the ball pretty well and Jenna Halbrook pitched very well. We are proud of these girls who are learning to play the game. Kickapoo JV Tournament 9-7-13 (10 am, 11:30 am, and 1 pm)

Warsaw Recap

Gm 1 @ Warsaw 8-31-13

Won 11-3; W - S. Francka (1-0)

Hits: Brookeline Walker (double) RBI; Haley Rauch, RBI; Aubrie Dial; Shania Francka (double) 4 RBI; Michaela Rudy; Taylor Sechler 3, (double) RBI; Kaylie Rothdiener, RBI

This was a good way to start the season. We respect Warsaw and felt they competed well. Fortunately we got off to a great start and had some big hits. We were able to add on throughout the game. We scored 4 in the first and Warsaw scored twice in the second to make it 4-2. After that, we scored every inning until the 7th.

I felt we cheated ourselves a little at the plate, but overall it was a great way to begin. We pitched and played pretty good defense.

UP Next: Gm 2 @ Willard, 9-3-13; v. Reeds Spring (COC), 9-5-13; v. Strafford, 9-9-13; @ Buffalo (COC), 9-10-13;
