2012 Post Season Honors

We had a great year on the field, 20 wins, COC Championship, District Championship. We played a tough schedule and these girls worked hard to win games. Success isn't determined by the number of wins you have, but the number of wins are a great by-product of the effort and determination individually and collectively. This group of seniors finishes tied with the '03, '04, and '11 teams at 72 wins for a career, the highest number of games won in Liberator Softball history. We have averaged 17.6 wins per year over the last 7 seasons. We are 22-3 in the COC small side since the division in 2008 with 4 COC championships in those 5 years.

We are so blessed to have had the opportunity to coach these players.

Willard, Reeds Spring, Buffalo, Ozark Tournament Recaps

Gm 4 v. Willard 8-28-12

Lost 10-4; L- Patton, (2-2) Bolivar (2-2)

Hits: Sydney Julien, RBI; Jaelyn Halbrook 2, double; Abby Martin, RBI; Kaylie Rothdiener; Michaela Rudy-RBI

Willard is a good team. We made some mistakes they capitalized on and it hurt us in the end. We battled. I was proud how we responded to some adversity. Hopefully, we can learn from this and it will make us a stronger team.

UP Next:
@ Reeds Spring (COC), 8-30-12; v. Buffalo, 9-4-12 (COC) Ozark Tournament (will send info as soon as I have it)

JV - Won 9-4 (4-2)

Gm 5 @ Reeds Spring 8-30-12 *COC

We started the conference portion of the schedule well. The final score is not a good indicator of the way the game played. We led 1-0 after 5 innings. We had some hits fall in the 6th and they made some mistakes that we capitalized on, and that continued in the 7th. We were happy with our efforts tonight.

UP Next: v. Buffalo, 9-4-12 (COC) Ozark Tournament Friday 9-7-12; 3 PM v. Nixa on West Field; 6 PM v. Ozark/Strafford; Saturday TBD

JV (5-2)- Won 12-3, WP- AnnaMarie Mcglone

We did a nice job tonight playing a team that came in 6-0 and very much improved from last year. They have some quality players. We feel like this was quality win for us and is a good step in a positive direction. We are learning to play together. We still made some mistakes that we can correct, but overall, we just need to focus on us and compete every pitch. We want to get better every day and let the results take care of themselves.

It was not a great tournament for us. We did some things well, but most importantly, we are starting to figure out who we are as a team. We hope to get back to the win column next week and learn from this experience.
